College Reverses Decision on Employee Attending Church

After being contacted by a Christian-based legal defense organization, a California college has reversed its position and agreed to allow an employee to continue attending church on Sundays.  Despite a deep conviction about attending church, an employee of San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton was told he would have to work on Sundays by a new manager last November.

Brad Dacus, president of the Pacific Justice Institute which represented the man said, “All employees are protected…to have their faith reasonably accommodated.  We hope that other state-based employers will learn from this college’s response.”
