Gambling

The American Voice Institute of Public Policy is opposed to the legalization of gambling both in casinos and riverboats and on the Internet at the national, state and local levels. We believe that gambling has an adverse effect on the American economy and society. Expansion of legalized gambling does not offer economic advancement for those communities affected. Instead it results in increased crime, corruption, personal bankruptcies, gambling addiction, family break-ups and the exploitation of the poor, the uneducated and the disadvantaged.
