Employee Free Choice Act of 2007 (H.R. 800)
On Thursday, March 1, 2007, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on the Employee Free Choice Act of 2007 (H.R. 800) [ Full Text of Legislation ]. The measure is sponsored by Democrat Representative George Miller of California and would revoke workers' right to a secret-ballot election when voting on whether to form a union which is overseen by the National Labor Relations Board . Instead, allowed to count as votes would be publicly signed union cards. Such actions would expose workers to intimidation and peer pressure by not protecting them from public declaration of their unionization votes and is simply undemocratic.
What Can You Do?
Urge your representative to NOT SUPPORT the Employee Free Choice Act of 2007 (H.R. 800) .
